These routes cross preserved landscapes, between valleys, rivers and authentic heritage, offering total immersion in the Gers nature.

Lectoure is rich in history and architecture. Among the sites not to be missed:

    • Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais Cathedral: dominating the medieval fortifications, it bears witness to the religious importance of the city.
    • The E. Camoreyt Archaeological Museum: housing collections retracing local history.
    • The Lectoure thermal baths (Valvital): offering relaxation and well-being in a historic setting.
    • The Village of Second-Hand Dealers: ideal for lovers of China and antique objects.

Mountain biking and hiking: discovering the Gascon landscapes

For cycling enthusiasts, the marked trail “In the footsteps of pilgrims” offers an immersion in the hills dotted with wheat, sunflowers, vineyards and orchards.
This route allows you to discover the charm of Lomagne while enjoying nature.

    • You can rent electric mountain bikes at the Lectoure tourist office.
    • The bikes are of good quality and the prices are affordable.


Lectoure is an excellent starting point for electric mountain bike rides, with varied landscapes between hillsides, valleys and small villages typical of the Gers.

Here are four different routes, suitable for electric mountain bikes, which start and return to Lectoure:

Coteaux and Gers Circuit (≈ 35 km, difficulty: medium)

Route: Lectoure → Marsolan → Saint-Martin-de-Goyne → Lectoure

Strong points :

Gentle climbs and descents offering beautiful views of the Gers valley

Passing through Marsolan, a charming Gascon village

Small roads and farm tracks

Loop to the Baïse and the Châteaux (≈ 40 km, difficulty: intermediate)

Route: Lectoure → Saint-Avit-Frandat → La Romieu → Lectoure

Crossing the Baïse valley with some technical passages

Possible visit to the village of La Romieu and its collegiate church

Alternating roads and forest trails

Hike to the valleys of Gers (≈ 45 km, difficulty: intermediate)

Route: Lectoure → Lagarde-Fimarcon → Terraube → Lectoure

Hot air balloon flight: an unforgettable experience

Les Montgolfières de Gascogne offers first flights from Lectoure. Flying over the Gascony valleys at sunrise or sunset offers spectacular views of fields of sunflowers, rapeseed, and corn, as well as the surrounding hillsides.
This activity is accessible to everyone, from 7 to 97 years old, and promises a unique feeling of communion with nature.

We draw inspiration from our ancestor d'Artagnan to undertake courageously. In permaculture for 15 years, our vineyard pursues the ambition to redefine the canons of the Côtes de Gascogne. Our white, red, and rosé wines subtly reveal the unique character of our Haut-Armagnac terroir.

Astronomy: observing the starry sky

The clear skies of the Gers region provide ideal conditions for stargazing. The vast rural areas, far from light pollution, allow astronomy enthusiasts to fully enjoy starry nights.

In Lectoure, an evening of stargazing is offered. The Gers is one of the places where artificial light is discreet. The stars in the sky are legion. A weekly market takes place on the main street of Lectoure on Friday mornings and a night market on the main street on Mondays during the summer.

Armagnac Rail Bike: an original ride

Near Lectoure, the Armagnac Rail Bike offers a fun activity combining sport and discovery. This 13-kilometer round-trip route along a former railway line allows you to discover the surrounding nature in a unique way.
